This hotel is excellent value for money - the rooms are clean and its location is good. The meals are very good and staff friendly.
Pleasant staff and comfortable spacaious rooms
Excellent food and friendly staff. Location perfect for a relaxing short break without the usually noise of a big city.
Travelling for business I really appreciated the quirkiness of this hotel. Value for money was execellent. Room was huge and well equipped. Location excellent and car park useful, though I needed to do a 20 point turn to get in!Breakfast excellent staff friendly
Feel awful saying this as everything else was so good, but could do with a deep clean. Took the shower head off and the holder was really dirty underneath. Quite a bit of dust and the carpet had seen better days. Didn't bother me, but others may
Staff were excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. Room was lovely and bright and clean. Bed was very comfortable, only fault I found was the shower was not very good, water just came out in a trickle and I was unable to wash my hair.
Only the shower.
Beautiful rooms, beautiful food, fantastic location - excellent all round!
The location was perfect for us. The staff were great. They cattered for our coeliac diet. We had a great time.
It was in a really central location with parking. The room was really quirky with original features, it was spacious and even had a sofa in it and was spotless. We didnt have a cooked breakfast but the continental breakfast was very substantial and the complimentary port in the room went down a treat each night. The staff that we met were courteous and friendly. Would definitley stay here again.
it was in a good location, easy to find, friendly staff
there was too much noise at the rear of the building late at night coming from the kitchen and parking lot area
Had a lovely weekend break at Gales, the owner is very pleasant and helpful and the rooms are clean with really comfy beds. The only downside is that if you are staying in the front of the hotel it can be a bit noisy, but I wouldnt let this affect my opinion. It was a lovely quirky hotel and I would stay again.
The staff were friendly and cheerful
Vegetarian menu was poor. After our main course (one choice: cauliflower rissoto no vegetables, no salad) we wished we had just had 2 starters (which were very good) Were surprised to find that cooked breakfast was not included in the price ... but what was on offer was basic, healthy and quite adequate though could have offered wholemeal or white toast instead of giving only one third w'meal without option. Margarine spread might have been offered as well as butter.
